The Dreams of Jose Castillo is a short film produced by La Villa del Cine and Vive TV. It is directed by Luis and Andres Rodriguez. It was recently awarded as the Best Venezuelan Documentary during the second edition of Caracas Doc Festival. It is an intimate approach to the creative work and world view of one of the most relevant icons of film animation in Venezuela. Juan Castillo is a wise simple man who lives his vast artwork as a sort of parallel reality made of paint strokes, colors and sounds flowing at the constant speed of 24 frames per second.

This is a very recent documentary film made by directors Luis and Andres Rodriguez in Sahrawi refugee camps located in the Western Sahara. It is part of a selection of Venezuelan films to be presented in the upcoming 35th edition of the Havana Film Festival. ‘Under the scorching sun and preyed upon by flies and fleeting illusions, our bodies break down slowly, until they are inexorably covered by the torn flag of our homeland and by the sand, the wind and the twilight of the desert’.
